Reports: Leeds United are ‘set to lose’ another player to Saudi Arabia.

All the latest Leeds United news and transfer rumours as the new Championship season begins.

Leeds United will kick off their new season in less than 24 hours.

The Whites welcome Cardiff City to Elland Road on Sunday afternoon as they aim to kick-start their Championship campaign. However, injuries and a lack of new acquisitions have left Daniel Farke with a small group to begin the new season. More new signings will almost certainly be necessary before the window closes at the end of this month.

Meanwhile, we’ve compiled a list of all the latest Elland Road news and transfer rumours.

Cooper sneezes
According to a source, Leeds United are ready to lose another major player, with Liam Cooper joining the flood of players travelling to Saudi Arabia.
According to journalist Abu Faisal, “Scottish international Liam Cooper (31 years old), 180 cm tall, has agreed in principle to join Al-Qadisiyah and currently plays for the Leather United team.” He is capable of playing in the centre of defence and at left back, and he is an excellent fit to assist the back lines.”

Cooper has been with Leeds since 2014 and would have been an excellent addition to the Championship squad. Whites fans will be hoping that this one does not come true.

Byran has re-signs.
Leeds United have completed their third summer acquisition with the signing of former Whites defender Sam Byram.
After his contract with Norwich City expired this summer, the 29-year-old re-joined the Whites to train, and the full-back impressed in pre-season friendlies against AS Monaco, Nottingham Forest, and Hearts. Byram has signed a one-year contract at Elland Road until the summer of 2024, ahead of the start of the new Championship season.

Byram will once again use the number 25 shirt, which he wore during his last stint with the club. Subject to EFL and FA consent, the defender could possibly make his second appearance for the Whites in Sunday’s Championship opener against Cardiff City at Elland Road.

James’ rekindled enthusiasm
Dan James, a Leeds winger, is excited by the prospect of renewed competition at Elland Road and believes it was always his aim to return to LS11 after a season-long loan at Fulham last season.

“We just have to keep going, it’s a great win, and this game and last game are clean sheets, which I think is so important in this league.”
