Before the transfer window closes, Leeds United is interested in acquiring Freiburg defender Bruno Ogbus, sources have told Football Insider.
The Championship giants will have a difficult time acquiring the 18-year-old this summer, according to senior journalist Pete O’Rourke, who made this revelation on the most recent episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast.
Ogbus is attracting interest from Leeds, but the Bundesliga team is not in a hurry to let go of the left-back this transfer window. Daniel Farke is intrigued in the teenage phenomenon, but Freiburg believes the next season will be his time with them.
Although the transaction is now viewed as difficult, Farke wants to enhance this aspect of the pitch. The manager of Leeds intends to bring in a left-back and a right-back to support Jayden Bogle, the new addition, this season.
Bruno Ogbus is considered a potential defensive option by Leeds United.
In the first game of the season, Leeds’ shortcomings at the back were evident as the Whites drew 3–3 with the recently promoted Portsmouth.
Despite his relative inexperience, the club believes Ogbus has the potential to be helpful in that area. Although the adolescent star has not yet played for Freiburg in the first team, he has made an impression in the junior system.
Bashi Humphreys, a young kid at Chelsea who the Premier League’s biggest clubs are hoping to offload this summer, is another player Leeds has been connected to. Burnley is a rival for Leeds, despite the club’s fans’ cries for action to try to recruit him.
In other news, while Portsmouth video is examined, Leeds supporters demand that Daniel Farke be fired.
