According to TeamTalk, Leeds United target Brandon Williams will forego a reunion with Daniel Farke at Elland Road in order to join Saturday’s opponents Ipswich Town at Portman Road.
Ipswich have started the 2023-24 season strongly, winning all four games under Kieran McKenna. They lead the Championship after victories over Sunderland, QPR, and Stoke.
On the left side of the Ipswich defence, Leif Davis has been outstanding. McKenna, on the other hand, appears to desire competition at left-back and is set to bring in Williams. McKennie has taken advantage of his Manchester United ties.
Last season, Williams, 22, appeared in just one game for Manchester United. Leeds was mulling a move as he entered the final year of his contract, according to The Independent. But he’s now on his way to Ipswich Town.
According to TeamTalk, he will join Ipswich on loan from Manchester United. Given Davis‘s recent success, it’s a bit of a curious signing. Williams, on the other hand, can play on the right side.
Leeds’ objective Williams is expected to join Ipswich Town from Manchester United.
Williams is an excellent Championship player. However, due to injury concerns, he only appeared once for Erik ten Hag’s team last season. Is he good enough to play for Leeds? He is most likely not the long-term solution.
Davis is expected to remain first choice upon his arrival. Leeds is still looking for a left-back, and if we were to recruit one of Ipswich‘s left-sided possibilities, Davis would be the better choice.
However, Leeds is now focusing on bringing in a midfielder. While a left-back is still required, one of our alternatives, Williams, has been assigned to Ipswich for the 2023-24 season. His contract expires in June 2024.
