Roberto De Zerbi says that Brighton has suffered a serious blow, but a crucial trio is expected to make a comeback against Nottingham Forest.

Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi admits he has ‘lost count’ of the number of injuries his team has ahead of Saturday’s (November 25) match against Nottingham Forest.

The Albion manager announced at his pre-match press conference on Friday that winger Kaoru Mitoma, as well as utility player James Milner, will be unavailable for the match at City Ground. Adam Webster is also out after injuring himself in practice.

De Zerbi also stated that left-back Pervis Estupinan will be out for ‘a long time,’ that centre-back Igor Julio will be given a late fitness test, and that fellow defenders Lewis Dunk and Tariq Lamptey could play.

Mitoma and Milner can’t play, they’re not available,” the Italian said. We’ll have to check with Igor.

“I’ve lost count of the number of injuries we’ve had.” Dunk is available, but Estupinan is not – at least not for a long time. Lamptey is doing better, which is great news.”

De Zerbi also stated that attacker Evan Ferguson will start against Forest, and midfielder Jakub Moder, who has been out with an ACL injury for the past 18 months, could come off the bench in the second half.

Brighton is also without winger Solly March (knee), forward Julio Enciso (knee), striker Danny Welbeck (undisclosed), and suspended Mahmoud Dahoud. That means the Seagulls will be missing at least eight players against Steve Cooper‘s men.
