Saudi teams may make a last-minute move to capture a ‘great’ Tottenham Hotspur star.

Hugo Lloris of Tottenham Hotspur is apparently still getting interest from the Saudi Pro League, with a last-minute move likely.

That’s according to the newest transfer confidential newsletter from The Daily Mail, which also includes an update on Lloris‘ future.

Lloris appeared likely to leave Tottenham this summer after the club confirmed in July that the 36-year-old was free to explore transfer options.

However, a transfer for the former Tottenham captain fell through, despite interest from OGC Nice and Lazio.

Indeed, according to the Mail, Lloris turned down a last-minute move to Nice last week because the offer arrived too late in the transfer season.

Nonetheless, it appears that Saudi clubs are still interested in signing Lloris before the end of the transfer season on September 7.

Lloris might still be signed by a Saudi team.
According to the Mail, Lloris is a target for ‘additional proposals’ from Saudi clubs before their deadline this week.

On deadline day, the Frenchman garnered interest from Newcastle United as well as his boyhood club Nice.

As previously said, the Nice offer arrived too late in the window for Lloris, who could not make the decision to transfer ‘lightly’ due to having a young family.

However, the report adds that Lloris is aware of interest from Saudi Arabia and that the Spurs are willing to let him go.

Lloris has been a ‘great’ player for Tottenham throughout the years, but his decision to stay at the club past the British transfer deadline surprised many.

The former France captain has turned down several offers to leave North London and appears to be waiting for the ideal opportunity.

Of course, his contract expires next summer, so he could be waiting to become a free agent. It remains to be seen, though, whether the veteran custodian will be enticed by a lucrative move to the Middle East.
