Sean Dyche gives his take on sacking rumors after Everton’s long-awaited victory against Crystal Palace

In light of Everton’s 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace, Sean Dyche has conceded that he must “get things right” on the field in order to maintain his position. With a resurgent victory against the Eagles on September 28, the Toffees were able to leave Goodison Park with three points.

Dwight McNeil scored twice in the second half to give Everton the victory, which has lifted them up to fifteenth place in the Premier League.

In an interview with BBC Match of the Day on September 28, Dyche expressed his opinion regarding his future at Everton.

As the custodian here, I have a lot of people to answer to. It appears that there will be a new owner now that the ownership is in transition,” he remarked.

“We’re not positive, and I’m sure it’s difficult to close these deals. All we can do in the interim is keep up our hard work, which is what I, my staff, and the players are doing. We shall have to wait and see what it brings.

“We’ve made progress in correcting the league table today. We also need to make sure we uphold the club’s core values, so we’ll have to wait and see what the new owner brings.”

“When it comes to my work, I’ve never forgotten that winning games requires me to perform well on the field.”

Sean Dyche responds to Everton’s dismissal.
Prior to their 2-1 triumph over Palace, the Toffees had a rather dismal season. Two two-goal leads against Bournemouth and Aston Villa were blown by the team, leading many supporters to wonder if relegation was imminent.

Although Dyche’s position appears secure for now, pressure has been building on him for some time, and Dan Friedkin‘s upcoming takeover might have a significant impact [Alan Myers, 26 September].

Numerous managers, including David Moyes and Gareth Southgate, have already been connected to the position. On the other hand, this victory over Oliver Glasner‘s team might have been the finest development for the former Burnley manager.

In turn, this would save Dyche’s job if the team can maintain the momentum they gained from this victory and gradually work their way back up the table, possibly even back into the top 10.
