After Steven Alzate left Brighton and Hove Albion, Hull City is reportedly considering a deal for him, as reported by reporter Sacha Tavolieri on X.
During the international break, Hull City hopes to sign the midfielder for free. Sheffield United, a Championship team, and Trabzonspor were also interested this summer, according to Turkish news source Fotomac.
The 25-year-old Alzate severed his connection with Brighton after the conclusion of the previous campaign, and his Premier League deal officially ended in late June. Since then, while looking for a new place to live, he has been considering his possibilities in the game.
According to journalist Tavolieri’s most recent report on his circumstances on X, the athlete is currently being considered by the Tigers as they want to boost their roster. Although the transfer window closed on Friday, teams may still use free agents to bolster their rosters.
Free agent wanted by Hull City.
Alzate may provide Hull City further competition and variety in their middle-of-the-park choices. They could feel compelled to fill the vacuum left by Jean Michael Seri’s departure after witnessing him walk out the door last month.
Oscar Zambrano, Gustavo Puerta, Xavier Simons, and Regan Slater are just a few of the players the Tigers have available in that region, although they are all rather young. Alzate began his career with Leyton Orient and now has seven caps for Colombia.
Before Brighton signed him, he played 12 games for the O’s as a young player.
Since then, the London-born player has made 51 appearances in all competitions for the Seagulls, contributing three goals. Alzate has spent the last two seasons at Standard Liege in Belgium after being loaned out to Swindon Town back in 2018 to gain some experience.
Although he has played in 49 games for the Pro League team, his stay is now over. After his time there ended, he also parted company with Brighton, and Hull City is now interested in signing him.
For the Hull City target, what now?
It appears that the Tigers are attempting to sign him as they get ready for their next matchup with Sheffield United on Friday. Their last game was a 2-0 loss on the road against Leeds United.
After four games, Tim Walter’s team has three points to their name.
