Leeds United will extend their unbeaten record in the Championship to seven games when they meet Blackburn Rovers on Saturday, December 9th, according to David Prutton.
Blackburn are also in the playoff hunt, but come into Saturday’s game off the back of a 3-1 loss to bottom-of-the-table Sheffield Wednesday, and while Prutton believes it will be close, he believes Farke’s side will have enough to take all three points.
“Blackburn look brilliant at times this season, on other occasions they manage to throw in a result like the one at Sheffield Wednesday last weekend,” he wrote in his Sky Sports Championship predictions (7 December). That is why they are just outside the playoffs.
“Leeds appears to be in excellent condition. But they must win, win, win if they are to narrow the gap on the top two.
“It could be close here, but the away side will shade it.”
Keep up the good work.
Between now and the end of the season, Leeds United have a pretty easy task. They must attempt to win every game in order to decrease the gap between themselves and Leicester City and Ipswich Town in the race for automatic promotion.
Leeds have been strong on the road this season, winning five of their ten away games, and if they are to narrow the gap at the top of the league, they must earn all three points on Saturday. However, Blackburn will be trying to bounce back following a dismal defeat to Sheffield Wednesday. If Farke was promised a 2-1 victory, as Prutton predicted, he would likely accept it before the ball was kicked. It doesn’t matter how brilliantly Leeds perform at Ewood Park; what matters is that they get all three points.
