Ange Postecoglou’s strategies, in Jamie Carragher’s opinion, are leaving Cristian Romero and Mickey van de Ven too vulnerable in the back.

Jamie Carragher, however, offered his opinions on Ange Postecoglou’s strategies and how they expose two of Tottenham’s greatest players before Spurs play their top-four opponents. In his piece for The Telegraph, the former Liverpool defender said that World Cup champion Cristian Romero and his defensive partner Mickey van de Ven are being overexposed at the back as a result of Tottenham’s all-out attacking strategy.
“Cristian Romero and Mickey van de Ven, a World Cup winner paired with one of the fastest defenders in the world, have the potential to be
one of the best center-back pairings in the Premier League,” he said on Telegraph.
“Whether they are being left too exposed and could benefit from a more balanced set-up is a legitimate tactical discussion.”
The Australian manager uses a very high line when Spurs play. The former Celtic manager is of the opinion that offensive football should be played regardless of the opponent or the situation. Opponents have frequently taken advantage of his tactical setup’s exceptionally high defensive line.
The North London team has struggled mightily with balls in behind, and Carragher believes a more balanced approach might allow players like Romero and Van de Ven to reach their full potential. The Dutch international is one of the fastest center backs in the world, and the Argentine is among the greatest in the world. The two might wreak havoc together, but Postecoglou, a Liverpool icon, claims that their strategies aren’t working.
Carragher wants the Tottenham manager to adopt a more impartial stance, but that is unlikely to occur because the Australian manager has made it plain from the beginning that he will support his style of football regardless of the outcome.
