Spurs are interested in a £15 million goal machine who is considered ‘simple’ to sign in January.
Tottenham Hotspur is one of several Premier League clubs said to be interested in Serhou Guirassy ahead of the January transfer window.
Spurs are keeping an eye on the Guinea international forward, according to writer Dean Jones on the Ranks FC podcast in October.
Jones has now supplied an update on the rumoured Tottenham aim, saying that “half the Premier League” is interested.
According to the writer, who wrote on GiveMeSport, Guirassy’s decision could come down to “big pay offers.”
Jones, on the other hand, believes the transfer should be “relatively easy to get going” due to his rumoured £15 million release clause.
‘Who can negotiate the best terms?’
The source also mentioned that one of Tottenham’s rivals, West Ham, may be interested in signing Guirassy.
“The race to sign Guirassy is getting quite interesting because half the Premier League are now considering whether they should be signing him in January,” Jones stated in an email. “However, I’m learning that this will most likely come down to big pay offers.”
“The release clause makes an actual transfer relatively easy to get started, but because of that, the player himself will most likely be looking for a handsome package that lands in his account, and as such, I believe it will come down to who can put the best terms on the table.”
“West Ham are definitely on the lookout for a striker, and they would probably have a decent chance of getting him if they are willing to push the boat out and offer him the sort of deal that they might not normally put out there for a player of this age and career path.”
“But he’s on fire, a European boot contender, and goals are hard to find these days at the top level.”
Serhou Guirassy is a strong candidate for Tottenham.
Guirassy would surely tick a lot of boxes for Spurs, especially in the January transfer window, when signing a top-level striker is especially difficult.
The 27-year-old is gifted, prolific, and hardworking, has a strong track record, has a decent age in terms of experience and years ahead of him, and is not overpriced.
Guirassy has been on fire this season. This season, he has an incredible 18 goals in all competitions. This is four more than Mohamed Salah and one more than Erling Haaland.
He’d be the Bundesliga‘s top scorer right now if it weren’t for an England international who departed Tottenham in the summer.
