Tottenham expert John Wenham is “100 percent behind” the club’s proposal to seek permission to extend the amount of non-football activities it may organize annually.
Spurs are reportedly seeking permission to boost the number of non-football significant events that can be held at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium each year from 16 to 30.
Since the demolition of the old White Hart Lane and the construction of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Spurs have hosted a number of notable events, including concerts, NFL games, and boxing contests.
Wenham believes that increasing these activities will only help the club.
“It generates money for the local economy, more money for the club, and that puts us in a great place, especially with all the controversy surrounding FFP at the moment.”
Daniel Levy continues to produce more revenue at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Many fans will be dissatisfied with Tottenham’s continued emphasis on success away from the pitch.
However, it’s difficult to dispute that the two go hand in hand. The more cash the club generates, the more likely they are to spend on transfers.
While some may argue that they want the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to be known for its attractive football and abundance of trophies, it is difficult to disagree with Wenham that using the stadium when it is not needed by the football team is not a bad idea.
