Trevoh Chalobah of Chelsea is apparently the subject of renewed interest from Tottenham Hotspur ahead of the January transfer season.
Spurs had reportedly abandoned a bid for the 24-year-old a few weeks prior. But according to a recent story, the Lilywhites are reportedly back on the hunt.
TEAMtalk claims that Tottenham has gotten in touch with Chalobah’s agents to inquire about the prospect of a possible deal.
Spurs are reportedly investigating their alternatives to step in and assist Micky van de Ven, who is now injured, and Cristian Romero.
In light of recent occurrences, Ange Postecoglou is allegedly eager to add a center-back to his roster in the upcoming weeks.
Tottenham had a great start to the season, but they lost a lot of games as a result of injuries and suspensions that thinned their roster.
Tottenham should give Trevoh Chalobah a chance, but they also need someone who can start right away at N17.
Spurs’ renewed interest in Chalobah is not shocking given that Van de Ven has not yet returned to training.
He appears to be a solid choice for Tottenham at first glance. The young, gifted player, who is valued at £22 million, has a wealth of Premier League and Champions League experience.
Chalobah is endowed with exceptional speed as well. He stated, “My highest would be probably 34km/h,” to UEFA.com in 2022.
Spurs full-back Ryan Sessegnon, in contrast, has a speed recorded by SpeedsDB of 33.60 km/h.
Chalobah, though, is presently sidelined due to an injury and isn’t expected to return to action until the end of January.
And it would take him some time to fully catch up because he hasn’t played this season.
Chalobah would be a wonderful long-term addition for Tottenham, but they also need a player who can contribute right away when he arrives in January.
