According to Football Insider, Tottenham Hotspur are in talks with Nottingham Forest about signing Morgan Gibbs-White this summer.

Reports linking Tottenham to Gibbs-White originally surfaced in March, when talkSPORT reported that Forest are at risk of failing to comply with PSR once more, perhaps leading to harsher fines having been hit with a four-point deduction earlier in the season.

According to the newspaper, the Midlands club could move the midfielder to offset their losses, and Spurs are eager to sign him.

According to the most recent Football Insider update, Spurs have already begun talks with Forest about signing the Englishman.

According to the report, while Nuno Espirito Santo’s team needs to sell some assets this summer, they have no intention of selling Gibbs-White cheaply and have raised his asking price to £60 million.

Newcastle has also indicated interest in the 24-year-old, although Tottenham is currently reported to be in ‘pole position’ to sign him.

Forest negotiated a hard deal for Brennan Johnson last summer, and they might do the same for Gibbs-White. However, I am not certain that Spurs would be willing to pay close to £60 million for the midfielder, especially given Forest’s financial position.
