Spurs make a £42 million offer to sign a versatile La Liga player

Tottenham Hotspur has made an offer of £42 million for Real Sociedad star Takefusa Kubo.

The North London team is searching for ways to improve their offensive ahead of next season. While Spurs performed admirably last time out, Ange Postecoglou needs more offensive firepower as he strives to compete with the finest teams in the country.

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in Takefusa Kubo following his excellent ascent at Real Sociedad. According to TEAMtalk, they have already made a £42 million offer to sign the dynamic Japanese forward.

While things did not go as planned for Kubo at Real Madrid, his transfer to Sociedad in 2022 has helped him establish himself in the Spanish top flight. The 23-year-old’s continuous performance has put him on the radar of several prominent clubs.

Kubo loves to play out wide on the right, although he can also play on the left and as a number 10 if necessary. He has impressed Tottenham‘s recruitment chiefs with his performances, and they want him at their disposal for next season.

Tottenham have already made an opening proposal of £42 million for the versatile player. While Sociedad will make a substantial profit, Tottenham may need to make a better bid to sign him.

The player’s contract with the Spanish club continues until the summer of 2029, and he is protected by a £51 million release clause. Spurs will need to activate it if they want Kubo in their squad.
Meanwhile, if Tottenham‘s initial approach is rejected, Postecoglou will most certainly pressure the club to release him, as he has identified him as a major summer target.
