Spurs set to compete with Real Madrid for Brazilian wonderkid

Tottenham Hotspur are preparing to compete with Real Madrid for the signing of Brazilian wonderkid Savinho, and there’s a chance they’ll win the race.

Despite the loss of Harry Kane in the summer, Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou still has a plethora of attacking potential at his disposal.

Spurs captain Heung-min Son is on fire right now. His Saturday goal against Liverpool was his sixth of the season (Transfermarkt).

With players like Dejan Kulusevski, Richarlison, Manor Solomon, and Brennan Johnson surrounding him, it’s hard to see why the Spurs would need another attacker.

Tottenham and Real Madrid are both interested in Savinho.

Another attacking talent has been linked with a move to North London, with one eye on the January transfer window and beyond. According to TEAMtalk, Spurs are interested in 19-year-old Brazilian attacker Savinho.

The kid is presently on loan at Girona in La Liga but is owned by Troyes in France. He joined the Ligue 1 club last summer but has yet to play for them, having spent time on loan at PSV Eindhoven during the 2022/23 season.

Savinho has two goals and four assists for Girona this season (Transfermarkt). And it appears that his form has drawn the attention of both Tottenham Hotspur and Real Madrid.

According to the article, adding a new forward will be one of Postecoglou’s “main priorities” in January, and Savinho is “very much in Tottenham’s thinking.”

Ange Postecoglou

The youngster has previously stated his desire to play in the Premier League, but he turned down Arsenal last summer before moving to France.

Spurs may have the upper hand in the battle for the time being, since Real Madrid are not regarded to have the financial resources to make it happen.

Savinho has started the season well in Spain and, despite his age, is clearly equipped for top-flight football. He may be an intriguing addition to the Spurs’ squad, but I’d like to see whether he can maintain this form throughout the season before we take a chance on him.
