Journalist George Sessions has updated readers on Antonio Nusa, a prospective Tottenham move.
Spurs made a few early acquisitions during their respectable transfer window thus far. They acquired Radu Dragusin from Genoa and Timo Werner on loan from RB Leipzig.
Spurs, however, are still on the market and hope to sign a player in the last week of January, so they’re not finished yet.
George Sessions claims that a contract to sign highly regarded Club Brugge player Antonio Nusa is almost finalized.
He reiterated Spurs’ fervent desire to sign the young player and insisted that the absence of any new information should not raise any red flags.
Speaking on The Spurs Chat Podcast, Sessions stated:
“The second half of the window was focused on him. I wouldn’t be overly concerned that the news broke last week and nothing has happened since. I would not worry too much. Spurs certainly want Antonio Nusa, and he was discussed in the summer, so he has been on their radar for quite some time.
“If I were to stick my neck on the line, I would say that Spurs will probably get this done, especially with this being a loan that suits Club Brugge.”
The North London team has begun talks with the Belgian club and is now preparing to enter the next phase of negotiations to finalize the deal for the promising youngster.
The 18-year-old is unwilling to make a move in the middle of the season, therefore both parties may agree on a contract in which Nusa will be loaned to Bruges until the conclusion of the season before completing a permanent transfer.
The teenager has not played frequently this season due to a chronic back issue, which has forced him to miss eight games for the team.
Nonetheless, in the Belgian League, the Norwegian has three goals and two assists in six starts out of 15 games.
