Steve Cooper, the manager of Nottingham Forest, surprises everyone by selecting a lineup to play Brentford.

Nottingham Forest’s roster has been announced by head coach Steve Cooper for this afternoon’s Premier League match against Brentford.

For their second match at the City Ground before the upcoming international break, the Reds are back in action. And they’ll be keen to get back to winning on the Trent River banks.

Despite Forest’s weekend trip to Manchester City, which ended in a 2-0 loss to the defending champions, they left with a lot of positive things to build on. Prior to that, they battled back from being down to tie Burnley 1-1 at home.

Cooper modified his formation at the Etihad Stadium and decided on a back three. But he modifies his starting XI by three, switching to a four-man defense in a 4-3-3 formation.

Murillo, a summer addition, makes his XI debut with Callum Hudson-Odoi and Anthony Elanga. Nuno Tavares, who was forced to leave last weekend due to a groin injury, and Ola Aina are not on the roster, and Morgan Gibbs-White is moved to the bench.

Willy Boly and Murillo appear to be joining forces in the center of the defense, with Moussa Niakhate shifting to left-back. Prior to goalkeeper Matt Turner, captain Serge Aurier completes the defense at right-back.

In the middle of the field, Nicolas Dominguez, Orel Mangala, and Ibrahim Sangare all continue to play. Taiwo Awoniyi’s attack will be assisted by Hudson-Odoi and Elanga. In addition to Gibbs-White, the rest of the bench includes Odysseas Vlachodimos, Joe Worrall, Cheikhou Kouyate, Chris Wood, Andrey Santos, Harry Toffolo, Divock Origi, and Gonzalo Montiel.

Turner; Aurier; Boly; Murillo; Niakhate; Sangare; Mangala; Dominguez; Hudson-Odoi; Awoniyi; and Elanga are all listed under the forest. Vlachodimos, Worrall, Kouyate, Gibbs-White, Wood, Santos, Toffolo, Origi, and Montiel are the substitutes.
