“Take the money from West Ham” – A claim arises regarding Leeds United’s attitude on Crysencio Summerville.

Keith Wyness feels Leeds United should accept West Ham United’s bid for Crysencio Summerville this summer.

Speaking on Football Insider’s Inside Track Podcast, the former CEO believes there will not be a bidding war for the Dutchman in the coming weeks, despite the fact that he has sparked significant interest during the current window.

This interest in his signature was unsurprising given that the winger has proven to be one of Leeds’ most significant players throughout the 2023/24 season. He may not have performed to his full capacity against Southampton in the May play-off final, but the wide player was outstanding for much of the summer and contributed significantly to the Whites’ third-place finish.

Summerville and his colleagues can consider themselves unlucky not to have returned to the Premier League at the first attempt, but some of these first-teamers may make top-tier moves before the summer window closes.

Archie Gray has already moved to Tottenham Hotspur, while Glen Kamara has signed for French top-tier side Stade Rennais, so it wouldn’t be surprising if Summerville follows them out of Elland Road in the coming weeks. The winger has two years left on his contract at Elland Road, giving this summer a perfect moment to cash in, albeit he would be a huge loss if he left the West Yorkshire club before next month’s deadline.

Keith Wyness discusses Leeds United’s Crysencio Summerville predicament.

Wyness feels Leeds should consider accepting an offer for the winger from West Ham, who are reported to be in the running for his signature, rather than waiting for a potential bidding battle that may not materialize.

He stated, “As I understand it, the figures we’re talking about are around £25 million. “Despite his youth, he is a valuable asset to West Ham.”Lopetegui may have other solutions in mind that he considers similar, but I believe Summerville is worth a try. He could really make it. £25 million, plus some add-ons, might close the transaction.

“Leeds will hope for a bidding battle, but it does not appear to be happening. There’s no doubt he’s a talent, but I don’t see a major bidding battle developing. I believe they should take the money from West Ham and move on.

Leeds United should take a strong position against Crysencio Summerville.

The Whites should not risk losing him for nothing.

With two years left on his deal, Leeds might make a significant profit by moving him this summer. And if they accept an offer from West Ham, they may be able to begin looking for a successor before the transfer window closes, so Wyness’ point must be addressed.

However, the Whites should try to get as much money for the Dutchman as possible, and if the Irons are unwilling to pay more than £20 million for the winger, Leeds should allow other clubs to enter the race and make bids.
