Leeds United face Leicester City tonight in what is perhaps the most important game of the Championship season thus far.
The top two teams in the division will face off under the lights at Elland Road, and there are clashes all over the pitch that might decide the fate of the game.
However, from a defensive standpoint, Leeds may have one battle that sticks out more than others. That is Junior Firpo versus Abdul Fatawu.
Though Dewsbury-Hall leads the way in assists at Leicester, Fatawu is the most creative player in the division. He has made 24 huge opportunities this season, four more than Georginio Rutter and eight more than Crysencio Summerville.
Firpo must be mindful of the Fatawu menace.
Fatawu was Leicester’s most dangerous player in the return encounter in November, slamming the crossbar in the first half and setting up Dewsbury-Hall’s greatest chance in stoppage time.
Sam Byram was entrusted with marking him that night, and while he struggled in the first half, he fared much better after halftime.
Firpo is currently having his best run of form in a Leeds shirt, but there will always be defensive concerns, and Fatawu is without a doubt the most difficult test.
If he can neutralise Fatawu’s creative danger, Leeds will have a far better chance of coming away with a win.
