The 27-year-old Tottenham transfer target will be eager to join the Spurs; according to a club insider.

Tottenham have been linked with a deal for former player Kyle Walker-Peters ahead of the summer transfer window.

The club is currently facing a full-back crisis, with Destiny Udogie, Ryan Sessegnon, and Ben Davies all injured.

Pedro Porro, on the right flank, has established himself as a crucial player under Ange Postecoglou. However, the lone backup option, Emerson Royal, has struggled to impress, particularly inside Postecoglou’s system.

To remedy this issue, Tottenham are anticipated to acquire another full-back during the summer transfer window, and recent reports have linked them with their former defender, Kyle Walker-Peters, who is now playing for Southampton.

In the newest development, club insider and lawyer John Wenham believes the English right-back will be willing to leave the Saints and rejoin the Lilywhites.

The 27-year-old’s contract at St Mary’s Stadium expires next season, and with no extension in sight, his departure appears increasingly imminent.

Walker-Peters has been a steady presence for Russell Martin this season, starting 45 Championship games and scoring three goals and three assists.

His performances have not gone unnoticed, giving him a realistic option for Tottenham.

In an interview with Tottenham News, Wenham discussed Walker-Peters‘ prospective return to North London.

Wenham on why Kyle Walker-Peters will want to return to Tottenham.

He stated that the former England international sees the transfer as a strategic move to advance his career and possibly re-enter the England national team setup.

Wenham highlighted numerous elements that could drive Walker-Peters‘ eagerness for returning to Tottenham.

He pointed out that Tottenham, being a far larger club than Southampton, provides more exposure and prospects.

He told the Tottenham News:

“Some people have asked me why Walker-Peters would want to return.”

First and foremost, Tottenham is a massive club in comparison to Southampton.

“This season we have played such few games and there have still been several injury issues.”

“There will be plenty of minutes to go around next season, and Walker-Peters will be thinking that a move to Spurs could get him back in the England squad.”

Walker-Peters‘ versatility to play on either wing of the defence would make him an appealing prospect for the team, answering urgent demands while also providing depth for the upcoming season.

As Tottenham aim to strengthen their team, Walker-Peters might play an important role in their intentions to contend on numerous fronts next year.
