The booking of Moises Caicedo against Brighton is missing from Premier League records.

Moises Caicedo appears to have avoided punishment despite Craig Pawson’s yellow card against Brighton.

Chelsea earned all three points at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon, defeating Brighton & Hove Albion 3-2 in a thrilling Premier League match.

Chelsea defeated Brighton 3-2 at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon in one of the season’s most dramatic games.

The game had it all: goals, controversy, VAR checks, and a slew of bookings for referee Craig Pawson to deal with. The veteran official issued 11 yellow cards during the game, two of which were shown to Blues midfielder Conor Gallagher, who was sent off in the first half.

Jack Hinshelwood, Igor Julio, Pascal Gross, and Joao Pedro were all cautioned for Brighton, but it was a booking for Chelsea‘s Moises Caicedo that had many people scratching their heads at the Bridge and elsewhere.

The £115 million signing, making his Premier League debut against his former club, was shown a yellow card by Pawson early in the second half for a foul on Evan Ferguson. The offence, however, was not recorded on the official Premier League website.

The foul by Caicedo was mentioned in the Premier League commentary but not the booking. However, Benoit Badaishile was correctly given a yellow card for kicking the ball away moments after the Caicedo incident.

Caicedo had previously received three yellow cards in the Premier League prior to Sunday’s game, putting him one caution away from a suspension if the caution was issued.

When contacted for comment, the Premier League confirmed that no yellow card was shown to Caicedo, and that the booking was only for Badiashile after he delayed the game’s restart due to Caicedo’s foul.
