After almost nine years at Liverpool, Klopp declared his intention to leave the team back in January. After being connected to the Reds position, Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso and Germany manager Julian Nagelsmann have subsequently dropped out, with Amorim being projected to take over.
However, given that Slot is now reportedly in the picture, it’s possible that the former Portugal midfielder was merely a smokescreen for the north west giants. Amorim is “unlikely” to lead Liverpool, according to David Ornstein of The Athletic, who also notes that the Reds are now trying to be “brave over popular” in their selection of a new manager.
