Jakub Moder of Brighton & Hove Albion told Goal.pl that Fabian Hürzeler persuaded him to continue playing at The Amex this season.
This season, the Poland international has not made an appearance with the Seagulls. In the summer, Brighton added three new players to the midfield position after letting go of a few existing players.
Moder knows full well that Brighton has fierce competition, and it is up to him to battle for a spot under Hürzeler.
Regarding his chances of playing regularly for the Premier League team, he responded, “I think it’s good.” One of the center midfield players the team brought in was hurt.
“I was told by the coach that he wanted me to stay.” He’s signaling to me that everything relies on me and that I should battle for a spot in the team. I’ll have a chance if I look well.
Although he hasn’t played for Brighton this year, Michał Probierz, the manager of Poland, chose to put him in the squad for the international break in September. The 25-year-old played against Croatia and Scotland as a substitute.
In June, the midfield player persevered despite an injury during Poland’s Euro 2024 loss to France. He stated this when questioned about positive aspects from the national team training camp this month.
“I’m happy I received the call. It was crucial for me to acquire minutes with the national team because, as the coach emphasized, I didn’t play for the club and I didn’t have a preparatory time,” Moder said.
“I played through an injury in the Euro match against France because it is very important to me to represent Poland, and the coach has since assisted me with my current predicament. To play in the club these days, you have to fight.”
He continued to play against France for the entire ninety minutes, which exacerbated his injuries.
“Most likely, yeah. a muscular rupture in the quadriceps. It began to rip more and more with each run and kick. That’s what the doctors told me, anyhow. However, I felt that playing was essential for the squad as much as for me,” he continued.
The medical staff of the English club saw it, though.
“Maybe I played in this game needlessly, but I had an individual goal and wanted to give it everything I had for the Euros,” the Brighton doctor added. I wasn’t thinking about anything else,” Moder remarked.
