The 27-year-old centre-back fell out of favour with former Tricky Trees manager Steve Cooper and failed to impress current manager Nuno
Espirito Santo.
Worrall was wanted by Nottingham Forest during the winter transfer window, and numerous Championship clubs expressed interest in signing him. However, his move to the Championship fell through, and he ended up joining Turkish club Besiktas on loan with the option to make it permanent in the summer.
Worrall has made two appearances for the Turkish club and has not played since February’s game against Kayserispor.
Besiktas manager Fernando Santos considers Necip Uysal and Omar Colley as his first-choice center backs.
According to Turkish daily Star, Besiktas is unlikely to make Worrall’s stay in Turkey permanent by exercising his buy option in the summer.
It has also been stated that Nottingham Forest wants Worrall to play more, and they have spoken with Besiktas about the player’s playing time.
Worrall is now expected to gain more game time in Turkey and maybe change Besiktas’ perception of him.
