The Crystal Palace coach Paddy Mc Carthy and the fans were not happy after a controversial penalty was awarded in the 3-1 defeat to Aston villa at the Villa Park.
Aston villa was awarded a penalty by Darren England which saw the Douglas converting the penalty to a goal. The refree was called over to the pitch side monitor after the foul following a VAR check, it took about four minutes. The refree eventually awarded the penalty and this is the first time this season that a refree struck with his on field decision and went against the VAR decision.
Crystal Palace took the lead in the 47th minute by Edouard then Aston villa equalized in the 87th minute by Duran before the penalty controversial decision took place in the 8th minute added time after 90 minutes which saw them scoring their second goal. At the end of the game Aston villa eventually won the game by a 3-1 win over Crystal Palace.
