The draw between Brighton and Fulham was deemed ‘frustrating’ by Roberto De Zerbi.

Fulham earned a point at the Amex on Sunday afternoon after Brighton failed to capitalize on numerous chances in front of goal against the Cottagers.

Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi was “frustrated and disappointed” after his team drew with Fulham on Sunday.

Albion dominated the first half at the Amex Stadium, with eight shots on goal and 73% possession. Republic of Ireland striker Evan Ferguson put the hosts ahead on 26 minutes.

Captain Lewis Dunk then hit the crossbar with a free kick, but Fulham equalized in the second half thanks to a powerful strike from just outside the box by Portuguese midfielder Joao Palhinha.

De Zerbi responded by making five substitutions, but despite their best efforts, the Seagulls couldn’t find a winner, with Adam Webster having a goal-bound header cleared off the line by Antonee Robinson in the closing stages.

Brighton have now gone four Premier League games without a win, but they remain seventh in the table following Manchester United‘s derby day defeat to Manchester City at Old Trafford.

“I’m frustrated and disappointed with the result,” De Zerbi said following the game. “Three days after Ajax, we played a great game, and the first half was fantastic.” We had the opportunity to score more goals in the first half.

“We gave up a goal because we lost our balance.” We lost three points to Fulham last season and two today. However, the performance was excellent.

“[Mo] Dahoud and [Carlos] Baleba played very well in the first half, but it’s still difficult for them to understand the details, but I was delighted with their performances.” Understanding our football takes time. We have made significant changes to the team, and don’t forget that we have lost three players due to injury.”

Brighton return to action next Saturday when they visit Goodison Park to face Everton. The game begins at 3 p.m.
