Journalist Ben Jacobs has disclosed that a Tottenham forward who was insistent last summer that he wanted to stay at the team has now made a significant choice on his future.
For the Tottenham player, 2024 has been a memorable year.
At the beginning of 2024, Richarlison was having a great start to the season. He had finally settled in at Tottenham, leading the line admirably for Ange Postecoglou’s team and scoring goals for fun.
But since then, the Brazilian has been sidelined by ailment after injury, making it impossible for him to show the Spurs head coach how valuable he is on the field.
The 27-year-old’s fitness issues have left him without a viable backup for Dominic Solanke, and Postecoglou has acknowledged that he is frustrated.
Journalist Ben Jacobs has recently disclosed that Richarlison has changed his mind on his future. Last summer, the former Everton player was adamant about sticking with the Lilywhites and competing for a spot in the squad.
The striker’s position has since shifted, though, as it is believed that he is amenable to leaving the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium at the end of the current campaign.
The guy was very insistent last summer that he wanted to battle for his spot at Spurs, and we were all thrilled to see him happy. The majority of us wanted it to work at Spurs, and we wanted Richarlison to be that £60 million player and succeed, Jacobs stated on NUFC Matters.
However, I’ve heard in recent months that the player has changed his mind and is open to leaving Spurs in 2025.
In January, Richarlison won’t be departing.
The Brazil international has reportedly opted to stay at N17 until the summer, so it appears that a January departure is out of the question.
Diario AS reporter Eduardo Burgos provided this update a few days ago, emphasizing that Richarlison has rejected Saudi Arabia’s interest ahead of the January window, just as he did in the summer.
The center-forward has “ruled out” leaving Ange Postecoglou‘s team next month, the reporter continued.
