Journalist Alan Nixon claims that Saudi Arabia poses a serious danger to Nottingham Forest in their pursuit of defensive midfielder Ezequiel Fernandez of Boca Juniors.
The 22-year-old midfield player has been watched by Forest, who are now attempting to bring him to the Midlands this summer. After keeping a careful eye on him, the team is now trying to arrange a contract to sign the Boca Juniors midfield player in the upcoming weeks.
Although Nottingham Forest is in the lead in the Premier League’s race to capture Fernandez during the current transfer window, Leicester City has also scouted the midfielder. In their pursuit of Fernandez, though, Saudi Arabian teams are posing a serious threat. In an effort to acquire young, promising players, the Saudi Pro League is making a strong push into the South American market, and Fernandez is being marketed to Saudi Arabian clubs.
At this point in his career, Forest hopes that the opportunity to play in the Premier League will interest him more than moving to the Middle East. This summer, the Midlands club want to sign him for a reported fee of around £18 million.
