At the close of the transfer window, Nottingham Forest wrote inquiring about CA Osasuna defender David Garca, with an eye now on the January market and their potential return.
According to Diario de Navarra, in a last-ditch effort to support Steve Cooper’s defense, they allegedly had “a letter sent” asking about the defender’s status.
On the final day of the summer transfer window, Forest added seven players, including Ibrahim Sangare, along with Andrew Omobamidele, Nicolas Dominguez, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Odysséas Vlachodimos, Divock Origi, and Nuno Tavares.
With the addition of Vlachodimos, Omobamidele, and Tavares, the defense received particular attention, albeit they weren’t the only players examined.
Osasuna sporting director Braulio Vázquez has even publicly acknowledged they didn’t reply to a request for the player, despite reports linking them to a bid for Garca.
Following up on that, Diario reports that Premier League teams had expressed interest in him and that Nottingham Forest had “sent a letter” to inquire about his condition.
But that letter “did not go any further,” implying that Forest never went any further than enquiring about the player and his potential price.
For those who are interested, the center-back is now valued at €20 million, and it appears that either that or another aspect prevented those in power at Nottingham Forest from pursuing their interest further.Dav
The January transfer window, when it’s predicted that there would be interest in the Osasuna player again, is currently the main point of attention.
