One of the best players in the club has officially joined Tottenham Hotspur’s roster.
Tottenham has inked Mikey Moore to a new deal.
Mikey Moore, a teenage sensation, turned 17 this year and pledged his future to the North Londoners, allowing him to sign his first professional contract.
Moore signed a three-year deal, the longest any player under the age of eighteen can have according to FIFA rules.
Earlier this month, The Athletic revealed that Tottenham had offered Moore a higher salary than they had ever given to a player turning 17 years old.
The England youth international made headlines at the end of the previous season when he became Spurs’ youngest Premier League player in their 2-0 loss to Manchester City on May 14.
The midfielder was named as part of Ange Postecoglou’s pre-season plans, scoring his first goal for the club in Tottenham’s 5-1 win over Hearts and going on to catch the eye during the trip to Japan and South Korea.
Moore signed a three-year professional deal.
Before the last preseason game, Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou was questioned about Moore and waxed poetic about his abilities.
Postecoglou stated to Football.London, “It’s fairly obvious that he’s sixteen years old and turning seventeen.”He manages it pretty well, and if you’re a young football player and things are going well, that’s just part of the process. He can’t be shielded from everything by us. But he’s been great.”
“We brought him into the first-team environment the back end of last year. He’d experienced several injuries early in the year. Every time he’s played for the Under-18s or Under-21s, he’d had an effect. For a relatively young man, he adjusted pretty fast.”
“He returned for the preseason and performed admirably in both training and the games. It’s fantastic for this football team, which has already shown a lot of promise after passing through our program. He is a young man, though. It is our responsibility to provide the ideal atmosphere for him to play football to the best of his abilities.”
Real Madrid and PSG, among other elite European teams, were reportedly interested in Moore (GiveMeSport).

The player, who richly deserves to be rewarded with his first professional contract, and the club both welcome this as fantastic news.
Moore’s adjustment to the limelight of being a member of the Tottenham first team has been amazing, but in order for him to continue growing and accomplishing the kind of success that is anticipated of him in the future, fans will have to exercise patience.
