Tottenham 1-2 West Ham: The Hammers secure three points thanks to a spirited second-half comeback.

Tottenham’s hopes of a surprise title drive appeared to be dashed after three losses in their last four matches, with Ange Postecoglou’s players burdened by a lengthy injury list in North London.

The Lilywhites will host West Ham on Thursday, hoping to turn their fortunes around against their cross-city rivals.

TOT: Vicario, Udogie, Davies, Romero, Porro, Hjbjerg, Bissouma, Johnson, Lo Celso, Kulusevski, Son

WHU: Fabianski; Emerson, Aguerd, Zouma, Coufal; Alvarez, Ward-Prowse, Soucek; Paqueta, Kudus, Bowen; Paqueta, Kudus, Bowen; Paqueta, Kudus, Bowen

Tottenham appeared set to return to winning ways and end their winless streak on Thursday when Cristian Romero headed them ahead after only 11 minutes, rising to nod Pedro Porro’s corner beyond Lukasz Fabianski.

Little action occurred for the remainder of the half, but the Lilywhites appeared to be at ease as they controlled the contest in an attempt to maintain their one-goal lead. Jarrod Bowen, on the other hand, had other plans, pouncing on a loose ball in the penalty area after 52 minutes to restore parity in North London.

When Destiny Udogie was caught short with a poor backpass, James Ward-Prowse was on the scene, hitting his initial effort against the post before hammering the rebound into the back of the net to complete the comeback with 16 minutes remaining.

On Sunday, Tottenham will host Newcastle United in North London, while West Ham will visit Fulham‘s Craven Cottage on the banks of the Thames.
