According to Football Insider, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United are both willing to abandon their pursuit of Marc Guehi in January.
Spurs Web has relayed a number of reports in recent months indicating that the Lilywhites have a long-term interest in Guehi, who has emerged as one of the top centre-backs in the Premier League during the previous two years.
Sky Sports was the most recent to make such a claim, reporting on December 7 that the Palace star is one of three centre-backs at the top of Ange Postecoglou‘s wishlist.
However, The Daily Mirror reported on Sunday that the 23-year-old is regarded to be too expensive for Tottenham.
Tottenham and Manchester United will discontinue their pursuit of Guehi.
According to Football Insider, both the Spurs and the Red Devils are likely to confess defeat in their pursuit of Guehi.
This is because Palace have chosen to keep the centre-back until the end of the season, with one insider telling the media that a deal is now ‘impossible’.
Fans’ Opinion
Guehi would most likely want continuity at the moment since he does not want to compromise his prospects of starting for England at Euro 2024. Next summer, there will almost certainly be a bidding war for the 23-year-old’s signature.
