Tottenham Hotspur remain interested in Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher, and they are expected to make a late approach for him this month.
According to Paul Brown of Give Me Sport, Tottenham have long admired the 23-year-old and could test Chelsea’s resolve with a late offer for the midfielder. It will be intriguing to see whether the Blues are willing to cash in on the player late in the window.
Gallagher has played a vital role for them this season, and he has captained them several times. Replacing him at this late stage could be extremely tough.
“The Spurs have been interested in Gallagher for a long time, but they believe the price is too expensive. I would still anticipate Daniel Levy to make a move before the conclusion of the window, albeit late in the day, and it will be a true test of Chelsea’s economic strategy if Spurs make a reasonable offer. But I don’t think it’s a question of “if we don’t get Gallagher, we’ll get someone else.” I believe Spurs will try to sign Gallagher but not in a substantial way before the end of the window. If they don’t get him, they’ll be content to continue with what they have.”
