Former Tottenham Hotspur scout Bryan King has expressed strong views on the club’s transfer strategy, claiming that Spanish winger Bryan Gil should be the first to depart this summer.
King’s remarks come following Tottenham’s post-season friendly against Newcastle United, which concluded in a penalty shootout loss after a 1-1 tie in ordinary time.
Tottenham’s James Maddison scored first in the friendly, but Newcastle’s Alexander Isak equalised just before halftime.
The game went to penalties, and the Magpies triumphed after Bryan Gil missed the only chance in the shootout.
Bryan King discussed the probable outgoings with Tottenham News:
“Tottenham have a lot of work to do.”
“It’s going to be a hectic summer in terms of outgoings, and Gil is at the top of my list to sell.
“I would also consider getting rid of Emerson Royal, Yves Bissouma, Giovani Lo Celso, and Richarlison.
“These are players who would probably interest clubs in Europe and the Premier League.”
Gil has regularly been named as one of the players Tottenham will sell this summer.
He has struggled to establish himself at Tottenham since joining from Sevilla, and has spent the majority of his time on loan.
This season, under manager Ange Postecoglou, he avoided another loan term while playing 11 league games.
Gil’s contract with Tottenham continues until the summer of 2026, but the 23-year-old is apparently looking for a permanent move away from the English club.
He is not interested in another loan change and is determined to find a new home. Sevilla of La Liga has recently expressed a great interest in signing the winger.
He has recently been linked with a move to La Liga club Sevilla, who are apparently interested in signing him.
