Tottenham are ‘in talks’ with an ex-Barcelona player while Newcastle United are planning a £60 million January raid

Newcastle United’s intention to compete with Real Madrid for one of the brightest young defensive talents in international football kicks off Wednesday’s Premier League transfer speculation round-up.

Jean-Clair Todibo

According to Fichajes, the Magpies are willing to make a proposal of roughly £60.2 million to recruit Goncalo Inacio from Sporting CP, but will face competition from Real.

Despite being only 22 years old, the centre-back has made over 150 first-team appearances for his current club and is a regular senior international for Portugal. As things currently stand, it appears that the player would prefer a move to Spain than a move to St. James’ Park, but with Newcastle exploring a January bid, it remains to be seen whether his attitude is unbreakable.
