Tottenham are among the clubs interested in Club America defender Sebastian Caceres, according to Football Insider.
The 24-year-old has impressed for Uruguay’s senior team under Marcelo Bielsa, and he dazzled in their 2-0 World Cup qualifying win over Brazil last week (18 October).
Spurs are now among the clubs keeping tabs on his improvement ahead of a possible January transfer window swoop.
Man United, Newcastle, Fulham, and West Ham are thought to be keeping an eye on Caceres as well.
The centre-back currently plays for Club America in Mexico, where he is under contract until December 2024.
This season, he has made six appearances for the Mexico City club.
Caceres has appeared in all four of Uruguay’s World Cup qualifiers, playing with Barcelona’s Ronald Araujo.
Because of his performances, teenage Wolves defender Santiago Bueno has been demoted to the bench.
Since joining Club America from Uruguayan club Liverpool in January 2020, the 24-year-old has made 109 appearances.
Caceres, who was born in Monteviedo, plays predominantly on the right side of a back four.
According to Football Insider, Ange Postecoglou wants to add another center-back to his Tottenham squad in January.
