Pedro of Flamengo has apparently just discovered that Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing him if Harry Kane goes for Bayern Munich this summer.
Spurs have enjoyed a successful transfer window thus far. They’ve signed Guglielmo Vicario, James Maddison, and Manor Solomon, and at least one more central defender is on the way.
Tottenham‘s biggest question mark, though, is Kane‘s future. Globo Esporte has updated their article on Tottenham Hotspur’s apparent interest in Flamengo‘s Pedro.
Pedro is aware that Tottenham are interested in signing him if Harry Kane left.
Tottenham‘s top player is Harry Kane.
For years, the Englishman has carried Spurs on his back, and he did it again last season, scoring almost 30 goals in a squad when no one else really stepped up.
Tottenham, predictably, is trying to keep Kane this summer, but Bayern Munich is eager to sign him and has even officially stated it.
If Kane does go, Spurs will need to find a successor, and TMW claimed this week that Flamengo striker Pedro is on Ange Postecoglou’s want list.
Globo has now confirmed that report, revealing that the Brazilian learnt of Tottenham’s interest in him during a meeting between his representatives and Spurs.
Pedro is a significant player for Flamengo, having scored 26 goals in all competitions this season.
Tottenham are unlikely to be able to replace Harry Kane.
The England captain is one among the world’s top attackers. His goal-scoring ability is well-known, but his all-around skill is as impressive.
There aren’t many players on the market like Kane. Tottenham’s lack of participation in European competition makes attracting large number nines even more difficult.
Pedro of Flamengo is an intriguing prospect, but can he truly fill Kane’s shoes if he leaves? We don’t believe so.
