Tottenham Hotspur are said to be interested in Japanese attacker Kyogo Furuhashi.
Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou reportedly sent top scout Ian Broomfield on a four-day scouting trip to Scotland, where he observed the 28-year-old Japanese forward in action. According to the Sun, Broomfield also applied the rule to other players in Scotland.
Tottenham could certainly use more depth in their attacking unit, and Furuhashi would be an excellent addition. The 28-year-old is at the pinnacle of his abilities and would relish the chance to demonstrate them in the Premier League.
It would be a significant advancement in his career, and he will be determined to perform at the highest level. The Japanese international has previously played under Postecoglou, and he should be able to quickly adapt to Tottenham’s style of play and make an impact.
Last season, the 28-year-old scored 34 goals in all competitions for Celtic, and Tottenham could certainly use someone like him. Richarlison, a Brazilian international, has been underwhelming this season, and Tottenham should look to replace him.
It will be interesting to see if they make a January move for the Japanese forward. Celtic signed him for around £4.5 million and will look to make a significant profit on him.
Tottenham have the funds to complete the deal, especially after sanctioning the high-profile departure of Harry Kane at the start of the season.
