Tottenham are lined up a seasoned Premier League midfielder as their third January signing, according to reports

Tottenham are acting quickly in the January transfer window as they try to earn Champions League football.

Tottenham Hotspur are looking for a proven Premier League midfielder in the January transfer window to help their struggling side.

Spurs have already signed Radu Dragusin permanently and Timo Werner on loan in January, but with a large number of players out injured, not to mention the absences of Yves Bissouma, Pape Sarr, and Heung-min Son due to international tournaments, Ange Postecoglou is looking to add reinforcements.

Fortunately for Tottenham fans, it appears that the team has found the right target who has previous Premier League experience.

Gomes has become a vital figure for Wolves since his £16 million arrival from Flamengo last January, starting all bar two league games this season as Gary O’Neill clearly believes in the midfielder.

His dynamism and tenacity in the middle of the pitch would surely suit Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham formation, with Gomes able to fit in effortlessly alongside James Maddison and Yves Bissouma.

With his contract running until 2028 and Wolves unlikely to sell due to his importance to the team, Tottenham may need to spend more than £30 million to add the 22-year-old to their squad.

Indeed, in the summer, the West Midlanders demanded £53 million from Manchester City for Matheus Nunes, and they may continue to be picky over the latest addition to their roster.

Gomes would have a better chance of making the Brazil national team if he joined Tottenham Hotspur, but Richarlison is already doing well there.
