Tottenham Hotspur’s recruitment this summer appears to be largely focused on signing talented young players, following the signings of Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall.
Spurs are now shopping in the youth market, having signed Bergvall and Gray. Bergvall is anticipated to become a star at Tottenham, while Gray appears to have already impressed the club’s coaching staff. Interestingly, Tottenham are reportedly interested in another bright adolescent.
Desire Doue is someone Spurs are supposed to be interested in, and according to Ben Jacobs on The Debrief, Spurs are currently assessing the situation to determine whether or not Doue wants to sign.
Tottenham is trying to figure out the Desire Doue situation.
Jacobs revealed what he knew about the youngster.
“The two clubs currently in active negotiations are Bayern Munich and PSG. They are now going head-to-head. Tottenham has also entered the competition in the last two weeks to see if the player is interested in moving there. Rennes claims they don’t want to sell and are asking for €60 million (£50 million) or more,” Jacobs claimed.
Doue to Spurs may be tricky.
Desire Doue may be a great addition to Tottenham, but this could be a difficult transaction to complete.
With Bayern Munich and PSG sniffing about, a move to Spurs may not be appealing to Doue.
Make no mistake: Bayern and PSG are genuine Champions League challengers, but Spurs will not compete in the Champions League next season.
However, Tottenham have recently demonstrated that they can outbid larger teams for these kind of acquisitions.
Spurs defeated Bayern Munich to the signing of Radu Dragusin, and they also outbid Barcelona for Lucas Bergvall.
Doue to Tottenham may be a difficult trade, but there may yet be hope in this one.
