Tottenham are working on signing a striker following the Richarlison bombshell, according to sources.

According to Football Insider, Tottenham are prioritising the signing of a marquee striker this summer after failing to replace Harry Kane last year.

On the latest episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior journalist Pete O’Rourke stated that English duo Ivan Toney, 28, and Dominic Solanke, 26, are potential targets as Ange Postecoglou tries to add more firepower to his side.
The Brazil international, who joined the club from Everton in 2022, may leave north London this summer despite being under contract until 2027.

Tottenham will be busy in the forthcoming window, according to O’Rourke, following Postecoglou’s critical comments about his team’s “rebuild”.

Toney has been on Tottenham’s radar for some time, with Football Insider reporting in November last year that the club was prepared to compete with some of its Premier League rivals to sign him.
Despite only scored four goals in 17 games since returning from an eight-month ban in January, the Brentford forward’s stock remains high after being included to England’s training squad for the 2017 European Championship.

Previously, reports stated that the Bees were hoping for a sum of around £100 million to allow Toney depart the club in the January transfer window.

However, Football Insider stated on May 31 that Spurs may sign Toney for just £40 million this summer, with his contract in west London expiring in June 2025.
Tottenham are also thought to be interested in Solanke, who scored 21 goals in 41 appearances for Bournemouth last season.

Football Insider reported in April that Postecoglou’s team had a “concrete” interest in signing the Cherries striker, as the Australian boss tries to rebuild his squad once the transfer window reopens.
