Tottenham Hotspur has been linked with a number of high-profile transfers since the departure of famous striker Harry Kane last summer.

Spurs are reportedly looking for a high-profile deal in the forthcoming window.

The latest development involves the Lilywhites and Manchester City’s top left-winger, Jack Grealish.

Former Tottenham defender Alan Hutton says the North London club will explore bringing the English striker to the capital if City decides to trade him.

According to Football Insider, no final decision has been made yet, but club officials believe Grealish is someone they are willing to sell in order to earn finances.

Grealish joined Pep Guardiola’s team from Aston Villa in the summer of 2021 for a staggering €117.50 million transfer fee, making him the most expensive English player at the moment.

The 28-year-old signed a six-year contract with the Citizens, which has three years remaining and will end in June 2027.

In an interview with Football Insider, Hutton discussed Grealish’s likely transfer to Tottenham during the upcoming summer window. He underlined the player’s adaptability, especially in the number 10 position.

Hutton, on the other hand, highlighted the significant financial challenge, noting to City’s costly acquisition of Grealish and the Lilywhites’ history of reluctance to spend heavily on players.

Hutton stated (via Football Insider):

“I believe Grealish could play the number 10 role at Tottenham.

“If Maddison is unavailable or not in good condition, you need a backup, and he may step in.

“But, from what I understand, it all comes down to money. “I was at Villa when Daniel Levy refused to spend £20m to bring him from the Championship, despite Manchester City’s £100 million offer.”He’s 28 now, yet they’ll still charge a large fee.

“When Grealish is on form and playing at his best, he comes in and improves all sides.

“I think he may well be happy where he is for the moment.”

Grealish has not been a consistent starter for Guardiola this season, appearing in only 27% of Premier League games.

The winger has made 36 appearances in all competitions, although his contributions are restricted to three goals and three assists. (Transfermarkt)
