Tottenham continues to believe that its 23-year-old player will improve.

Ryan Sessegnon’s stint at Tottenham has been nothing short of disastrous.

The 23-year-old was one of the hottest properties in English football when he arrived from Fulham in 2019, but due to a slew of injuries and being forced to change positions every other week, Sessegnon has struggled at Tottenham.

There has been much speculation that the left-footer may leave Spurs in the near future, but according to Mike McGrath of Last Word on Spurs, Tottenham aren’t quite ready to give up on Sessegnon, claiming that many believe there is still quality there to be utilized.

Tottenham still have optimism for Sessegnon.

McGrath revealed what he knows about the former Fulham player.

“With Sessegnon, as I indicated off-air, there was some interest from France, but it did not materialize; when he came into senior football at 16, he was extremely brilliant. Nobody has told me that they believe his Spurs career is gone; it is not ‘what are we going to do with Ryan Sessegnon?’ “I still believe that people believe there is talent to be used,” McGrath stated.

Has to step up.

As encouraging as it is to hear that Sessegnon is still rated at Spurs, he needs to step up soon.

Sessegnon, quite simply, hasn’t demonstrated enough at Tottenham, and with his contract expiring in 18 months, he’s playing for his future right now.

Unfortunately, Sessegnon has not done enough at Spurs to warrant an extension, and he must step up if he is to have a long-term future with the club.

It is unclear whether Sessegnon can perform, but he must act quickly if he is to have a long-term career at Tottenham.
