Tottenham currently has two African Player of the Year candidates and may sign two more.

Tottenham’s defence is bolstered by two African Player of the Year nominees under Ange Postecoglou.

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou could add two more African players to his squad in the coming transfer windows. Current Tottenham Hotspur players Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr have made the African Player of the Year shortlist, and others are rumoured to be on the Londoners’ radar.

Bissouma and Sarr form the foundation of Postecoglou’s exciting midfield, which has helped Spurs lead the Premier League after 10 games under the former Celtic manager. Fans have celebrated the duo’s breakthrough after ex-Tottenham manager Antonio Conte limited their minutes last season.

Postecoglou should have a dependable pairing to call on for years to come at the ages of 27 and 21, respectively. Their excellent club form, as well as their international exploits with Mali and Senegal, have landed them on the 30-man shortlist for African Player of the Year.

Spurs may also look to some of the other 28 stars for inspiration ahead of the January transfer window.

Serhou Guirassy is said to be a target for the Lilywhites, as well as a slew of other clubs across Europe, following his blistering start to the season with Stuttgart.

A staggering 14 goals in just eight Bundesliga matches would put him on the radar regardless of his price tag, but a release clause believed to be in the region of £17.4 million makes him a steal for any club looking for firepower.
