Leeds United have now made Joe Rodon their top objective in the transfer market this summer, as the Tottenham defender continues to excel on loan, and his contract may include a condition that allows for this.
Rodon has received high praise throughout his loan term at Leeds, and he is on the verge of helping the team return to the Premier League at the first attempt.
The Welshman is regarded to have no future at Tottenham, with sources saying the club has already told Rodon he can leave this summer (HITC).
Leeds have made it clear that they want Rodon to stay permanently, and the player is said to be eager to stay if Daniel Farke‘s side can return to the top flight this season.
Joe Rodon is top on the buying list for Leeds.
According to Peter O’Rourke on the Inside Track podcast, the Yorkshire club is so desperate to keep Rodon that they have made him their top priority for the summer transfer season.
He went on to say: “I think the priority for Leeds will be to secure some of those loan signings, Joe Rodon being the number one priority, to make that deal permanent, if they do go up.”
And, O’Rourke provided new information about a potential transaction, saying, “I think there is an option in his contract to do that if they want to, especially if they get promoted.”
The only way Joe Rodon will not sign a permanent contract with Leeds is if the club is not promoted. That race for promotion is tight, but I feel Leeds can achieve it, and either way, we will see Rodon back in the Premier League next season, I’m sure.
