Tottenham are planning to trade Djed Spence and Bryan Gil this summer after they failed to impress Ange Postecoglou, the North London club’s manager.
The defender joined Spurs from Middlesbrough in 2022, but has only played six times for the Premier League team, totaling 41 minutes. The full-back spent the first half of the current season on loan at Leeds United in the Championship before joining Italian club Genoa on a temporary basis in January.
According to Football Insider, the 23-year-old defender will be moved on this summer after failing to impress Postecoglou.
The same goes for Bryan Gil, who was a member of the Australian coach’s team this season. However, the Spaniard played only 233 minutes across 12 games in all competitions.
When the transfer market opens, Tottenham will consider offers for both players in order to enhance their roster ahead of a busy season for the North London club.
Tottenham should support Ange Postecoglou this summer.
Although Tottenham fans will be unhappy that they will not be playing in the Champions League next season, the 2023/24 season was not without its highlights.
Spurs produced some of the greatest football seen at the North London club in years, and Postecoglou has a lot to work with for next season.
However, the Australia coach will require assistance over the summer, and if the former Celtic manager can enhance his roster with some crucial players, Tottenham should make a stride forward next season.
It remains to be seen whether Daniel Levy would spend much during the forthcoming transfer window, although moving players like as Spence and Gil will free up funds for potential signings.
