Tottenham ‘Enter the Race’ to Sign Semih Kilicsoy from Besiktas

Spurs are competing for the highly ranked Turkish talent.

Tottenham Hotspur has joined Arsenal and Manchester City in the race to recruit 18-year-old Semih Kilicsoy this summer, according to journalist Graeme Bailey.

According to the source, the Besiktas wonderkid is set to transfer to England after attracting attention from a number of prominent clubs.

Manchester City and Arsenal are said to be in pole position to sign Kilicsoy, while Tottenham have also inquired about the centre-forward.

Other European clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich, are interested in the 18-year-old, who has 12 goals in 35 Besiktas appearances this season.

Kilicsoy, dubbed ‘Turkey’s rising star’ by former Galatasaray custodian Ahmet Bulut, is expected to fetch £22 million this summer.

The striker compares his playing to that of former Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero, and he says he wants to play in the Premier League because it is ‘the peak of football’.

Tottenham faces competition for Kilicsoy.

The versatile attacker is in demand throughout Europe.
Kilicsoy, who has fans around Europe, is expected to make a big money move this summer after leading Besiktas to Turkish Cup triumph last season.

Real Madrid is reportedly keeping an eye on the centre-forward, described as a “physical monster” by football commentator Ben Mattinson, after signing his compatriot Arda Guler, who had a great conclusion to the season despite struggling with injuries in the first half of the campaign.

According to Bailey, Manchester City and Arsenal remain ‘best placed’ to sign Kilicsoy, who made his Besiktas debut in 2023 and recently completed his first full senior season with the club.

The 18-year-old, who has been compared to Timo Werner by Football Talent Scout Jacek Kulig on X, can play in both the middle and wing of the attack. He was a standout on the left flank for Besiktas last season, scoring five goals from there.
