Tottenham has decided to buy a ‘complete’ striker rather than Evan Ferguson

Tottenham Hotspur are said to prefer signing Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke over Brighton’s Evan Ferguson.

According to The Sun, the Spurs see Dominic Solanke as a ‘greater prospect’ than Harry Kane.

Spurs have been extensively linked with a new striker since Harry Kane‘s departure last summer.

Brennan Johnson joined from Nottingham Forest on deadline day after Ange Postecoglou decided to bring in a more flexible forward.

Tottenham is apparently still looking for a new striker, with Brighton’s Evan Ferguson being a target.

According to talkSPORT, Spurs see Ferguson as the potential long-term replacement for Kane.

Tottenham have subsequently been linked with a deal for Solanke, and according to a new report, they prefer the Bournemouth forward over Ferguson.

According to the report, while Spurs are interested in Ferguson, they have cooled their interest in the Brighton striker.

That’s because the club sees Solanke as a “better prospect,” according to one source, who believes the Cherries star can play at a “higher level.”

Ferguson has emerged as one of the Premier League’s most promising prospects after impressing under Roberto De Zerbi at Brighton.

The 19-year-old has six Premier League goals this season, and the Seagulls apparently value him at more than £100 million.

Solanke, meanwhile, has been in good goalscoring form for Bournemouth this season.

In 17 league appearances, the Englishman has scored 11 goals and provided one assist. Andoni Iraola, his current manager, has characterised him as a’very complete’ striker.

After only scoring six goals in the Premier League last season, the 26-year-old has shocked many with his goal-scoring form this season.

Given that Brighton are expected to want a large sum, it’s easy to see why Spurs would prefer Solanke over Ferguson.
