Tottenham has called off the move for Chalobah.
According to Football Insider, Tottenham have cooled their interest in Chelsea star Trevoh Chalobah.
Following Micky van de Ven’s horrific long-term hamstring injury, Football Insider revealed last month (12 November) that the Lilywhites were interested in a January bid for the defender.
Blues boss Mauricio Pochettino has given the green light for the Chalobah, 24, to leave in January if Chelsea’s £40million asking price is met.
Spurs listed the centre-back as a major target following van de Ven’s injury, but they are now chasing other center-back prospects.
According to Football Insider (8 December), Spurs and Manchester United are vying for Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi this winter, with the Eagles valued at £60 million.
Bayern Munich is also thought to be interested in Chalobah, with Football Insider claiming earlier this season (15 September) that they could revive a bid for him in January.
Chalobah has yet to play for Chelsea this season due to injury, but he made 18 starts and 25 outings under current Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel, Graham Potter, and Frank Lampard last season.
Spurs‘ defence is porous, with van de Ven out and Eric Dier‘s dismal performances forcing Ange Postecoglou to use Ben Davies and Emerson Royal out of place.
Tottenham, who lost 2-1 to West Ham United on Thursday evening (7 December), will next play Newcastle United in the Premier League.
The Blues were defeated by Manchester United the day before and will now go to Goodison Park to face an in-form Everton.
In other news, a Tottenham specialist has suggested that multiple teams be probed in a shocking twist.
