Tottenham announced a trio of defensive acquisitions on Thursday, but a midfield deal might come next.
Tottenham’s eventful January transfer season saw the club confirm three transfers on Thursday evening, and it appears like Ange Postecogolu’s side will not be slowing down in the market just yet.
After bringing in Timo Werner to bolster their depleted attack earlier in the week, Spurs’ newest flurry of action focused on defence, with Radu Dragusin joining the club.
The Romanian international has joined Italian club Genoa for £25 million after Spurs beat off competition from Bayern Munich to capture the highly rated 21-year-old centre-back.
Dragusin has signed a contract that runs until 2030 and will wear the number six shirt in north London.
Moving in the opposite direction is full-back Djed Spence, whose loan at Leeds United expired earlier this month. He will go to Italy on loan for the rest of the season, with Genoa having the option to acquire him permanently for £8.5 million in the summer.
Eric Dier will reunite with Harry Kane at Bayern Munich, according to another confirmed transaction announced on Thursday night. Dier will initially join the Bundesliga giants on loan, with Bayern having a €4 million option to purchase him permanently in the summer, thereby ending the England international’s ten-year tenure at Spurs.
This triple agreement comes after ties to Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher resurfaced earlier this week, with Fabrizio Romano stating that Postecoglou’remains admired’ the England midfielder.
If Spurs sign another midfielder this month, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s tenure at the club could come to an end, as the Dane has been linked with a move to Serie A.
